CCS Unpacked|Neurodiversity: Dyslexia

  • Australia - Online (map)

Join Shift Practitioner Leonie Cutts and her guests Vanessa Victor and Michelle Kershaw for the eleventh leadership Unpacked session.

Great organisations know the importance of supporting diversity and inclusion in their workplaces. This includes neurodiverse employees.

In this Unpacked session we explore the often over-looked and misunderstood condition known as dyslexia. Believe it or not, Dyslexia is estimated to affect between 10%-20% of individuals (children and adults) — with many never being formally diagnosed. One way to ensure you are more fully including people with any level of dyslexia is by using multisensory approaches in your sessions, meetings and learning programs.

In this very personal and informative session, Vanessa Victor and Michelle Kershaw will talk about their personal experiences with dyslexia and what they are now doing for families and in the workplace to help. They will help us Unpack this important area of neurodiversity to learn what it means for you and those you work and (possibly) live with, and how CCS Cards can help.

Some of the topics we will cover are:

  • What exactly is dyslexia?

  • How does it impact work and relationships?

  • What are some strategies to help include a person with dyslexia?

  • How can CCS cards help?

CCS Cards are a unique system of picture cards and stickers for improving communication in workshops, facilitation and coaching.

The CCS Unpacked series of online events are free and designed to help you get the most from your CCS image cards. You do not need to own CCS Cards to participate - these workshops also make a great introduction to this powerful communication tool.
